Minggu 11 - kegunaan wordpress dlm pnp

1. Mendorong siswa untuk selalu mendokumentasikan apa yang ada di dalam fikiran mereka, termasuk di antaranya adalah pengetahuan, pengalaman, perasaan, pendapat, dan lain-lain, dengan kaedah yang paling sesuai dengan diri masing-masing, sama ada dari segi tulisan, gambar, suara, atau video. 
Setiap buah pikiran yang berhasil mereka dokumentasikan, sebaiknya diberi apresiasi agar mereka juga semakin terdorong untuk mendokumentasikan pengetahuan yang mereka punya. Apresiasi tersebut harus berupa tanggapan, pengakuan, pujian, dan bahkan kritikan atas apa yang mereka berhasil dokumentasikan.

2. Menggantikan kelas-kelas yang selama ini selalu terbatas pada waktu, sehingga proses pembelajaran pun dapat diselenggarakan dengan lebih fleksibel.

3. Cara yang efektif untuk meningkatkan minat belajar para siswanya kerana pelajaran tidak disusun dalam suatu bahasa yang formal tetapi lebih santai.

4. Memperkenalkan teknologi internet di kalangan pelajar dan pengajar. Teknologi yang semakin canggih ini perlu dimanfaatkan semaksima mungkin, diharapkan dapat menghasilkan suatu perubahan besar, tidak hanya di bidang pendidikan, bahkan mencakup semua bidang.

Week 9: jing


Jing is free software you can use to make a narrated video (if you have a microphone) showing how to do something on a computer. It records your mouse, and everything you click on and show on your screen.

·   Take Screenshots: Capture an image of what you see on your computer screen
·   Record Screencasts: Record what you see and do on your monitor
·   Collaborate: Jing’s older siblings – Snagit and Camtasia - are great for editing and enhanced sharing
Jing use for…
Business : Add notated screenshots to all your online conversations, or create a quick tutorial video you can share with the entire company.
Education : Give your students the information they need, when they need it. Use Jing to record your feedback as you grade papers, or take a snapshot to share with your class. Your students can even use it to collaborate, or ask questions!

Week 6 - how to use internet in your classroom


ü  Before we use the internet, we should set up the computer first. Here are some tips that we can take before using internet in the classroom ;
o   Location
The location of your computers is something that we don’t often appreciate. A good location should have all the computer screens facing one direction so teacher can quickly glance over to see who is on task and who needs help. If we set the computers up in pods or circles, we wouldn’t be able to see what’s happening. This is just good classroom management.
o   Headphones and Speakers
Although most computers come with speakers these days, that’s only one part of the equation. Headphones are equally important in a classroom environment. Headphones allow the students to turn the volume up and not disturb the classroom.
o   Educational Software
It’s not enough to set up the computer and tell the kids to go to the Internet and learn. You must install software. More often than not, you don’t get to participate in the decision making process when it comes to purchasing software. If there’s any way you can participate in the software purchasing process, do so. Be aware that if you want your opinion heard, you have to earn that right. This means extra work. You may have to do research and test out software to see if it’s what you want.
o   You might be looking for software that focuses on a particular skill, like map reading, or you might want software that’s broader in scope, tutoring students in geometry, for example.
o   Security Software
Keep in mind that your computer is going to be used by many students. Sometimes students can accidentally delete a file, remove a desktop item or render a piece of software useless. You need something to prevent this from happening. Security software like Fortres puts blocks on the computer to stop children from deleting or installing something potentially harmful. Deep Freeze is another popular product. It allows students to make any changes they want to a computer, but when the machine is restarted, the damage is undone. I find software like this invaluable. I highly recommend it.
o   Extras
The little things can make a big difference on a computer. Here’s a list of free software “extras” that I install on every machine during set up.
o   Adobe Acrobat Reader - PDF is a universal format that many documents are written in. If you have students on the Internet, you’ll need this.
o   Google Toolbar - The pop-up stopper on this toolbar is a little blessing. It will help prevent kids from being inundated with window after window.
o   Flash Player and Shockwave Player - Both players allow for certain types of animation to run on your computer.
o   Real Player and QuickTime Player - Both players allow for a variety of multi-media files to play on your computer. Many audio and video files on the Internet are written in one of these two formats.

Minggu 5- my future classroom

Classroom, as a future teacher, I must have my future classroom. As we know, children nowadays are very close with all those gadgets that are very advanced. For example, in the early age of 4, kids can have their own gadgets such as iphone, laptop, iPad and handpone. So, as a future kindergarten teacher, I expect that my future classroom must have very sophisticated students.
From now, I already imagine that my future classroom will full of technologies. I am not say that I will teach all my students with all those technologies but I believe that maybe half of my class’s student are very internet’s expert. So, from now onwards, I should think what kind of my teaching’s way.
First of all, when I am teaching, I will use the LCD’s to my students some examples of the subject that I want to teach them. I will show them the videos from the youtube or from other resources that I get from the internet.
Secondly, my students maybe will bring their own laptop to kindergarten. It’s not a suprises because children nowadays already expert on using those gadget. So, it will be easier for them to learn and they will more understand the subject that I taught because they explore it themselves.
Although I plan that my future classroom wil be more sophisticated, but I wil not just teach them using the technologies. It’s because, I want them to explore the nature also. I want my students have a strong social development, linguistic and physical development. So, they have to play among oher children. I can camduct an activity that involve interaction among my student such as play with the sand, and play a tradisional games like ‘Nenek-nenek Si Bongkok Tiga’ or ‘Pukul Berapa Datuk Harimau’. All those grouping games are very good for social interaction among them.
I think that’s all that I think my future classroom are. I will work for it and do my best for my future classroom.
